Is Tile Worth It?
As a Tile Setter with a deep love for the craft, I obviously have a bias towards tile, and I would recommend it to anyone. But, for the sake of this article, I will try to be as neutral as possible. There are many advantages but also some disadvantages
When installed correctly, tile can last a lifetime. The customizability of tile in spaces such as showers, backsplashes, and floors far outweighs the options of LVP. Using tile, anyone can recreate any aesthetic of any time period.
Setting aside aesthetics, tile is extremely safe. It is fireproof, hypoallergenic, and resistant to liquids, fumes, odors, and bacteria. Tile can also serve as a thermal and sound insulator, and with some specialized substrate products, these benefits can be enhanced.
For those seeking added comfort, some tile floors can be equipped with heating systems, utilizing the tiles’ thermal properties. The heating systems go underneath the tile and can be remotely turned on from a switch on the wall, or they can be controlled by a smart home system.
In conclusion, as a tile setter, tile might be the pricier option, but its unparalleled benefits make it a timeless and safe addition to any home.
